EYELASH EXTENSIONS FAQ

What are Eyelash Extensions?
Extensions are single strands of synthetic or mink eyelashes that are applied to individual eyelashes, one lash at a time, for a natural, elegant and luscious look.

What do they look like and how do they feel?

With proper application, Eyelash Extensions look and feel completely real.

How long do Eyelash Extensions Last?
When applied properly, semi-permanent Eyelash Extensions can last up to 6 weeks, depending on the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes and the expertise of the technician applying the eyelash extensions. You will probably want touch-ups every two to four weeks.

Can I apply mascara to Eyelash Extensions?

Yes. However, be sure to only use mascara that is water soluble, or one designed specifically for eyelash extensions.
Waterproof mascara along with any type of oil based mascara will dissolve the bonding agent and cause the Eyelash Extensions to fall off.

Can I wear my contact lenses with these extensions?

Yes

Could I possibly have an allergic reaction to the adhesive?

It doesn't touch the skin, as the lashes are glued to your own rather than the lid.

How often should I get touch-ups?
We recommend getting a touch up every two to four weeks. A natural eyelash falls off every 60 to 90 days on average due to the natural growth cycle and is naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. At any given moment, each of your natural eyelashes is at a different stage of its life cycle. A touch up is needed to replenish the lashes that have completed their life cycle.

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing Eyelash Extensions?

Yes. Our specially formulated bonding agent allows you to shower, swim, exercise, sleep and spa worry-free while wearing Eyelash Extensions. You can enjoy these lashes with little need to adjust your lifestyle. Please do not swim or spa for 48 hours after the procedure to allow the bonding agent to fully cure. After this, you can swim and spa - worry free.

Can I apply Eyelash Extensions to my own eyelashes?
No. Only a trained professional will be able to safely apply Eyelash Extensions. Unprofessional application or self-application may cause eye injury or clumpy, unnatural looking lashes. Eyelash Extensions are applied one lash at a time to your individual natural eyelashes to achieve long, thick and natural looking eyelashes. The procedure involves bonding the synthetic extension to your own natural eyelashes.

How do I take care of Eyelash Extensions?
Your new Eyelash Extensions are long, thick and beautiful! Once applied, they last up to 2 months. Best of all, they are easy to maintain. Your Eyelash Extensions service provider will give you a detailed easy care maintenance instruction manual following your procedure. To maintain this look and extend the life of your lashes, follow these easy care instructions:  (You will be given a take home care guide after application.)

- Do not wash eyes or shower for 24 hours after lash application. Do not swim or spa for 48 hours after lash application to allow adequate time for bonding.
- Be gentle with your lashes.
- Avoid rubbing your eyes.
- Avoid oil-based and waterproof mascara. Water based mascara and water based mascara remover may be used. Use mascara sparingly and gently remove mascara with water-based eye makeup remover. Ask your Eyelash Extensions Professional if she carries Eyelash Extensions water-based mascara, specially formulated for eyelash extensions, or purchase it here. Apply mascara on the tips only.
- We recommend getting a touch up every two to four weeks.

Can you describe the application process?
You will be comfortably reclined with your eyes closed while Eyelash Extensions are applied individually to your natural eyelashes. Depending on the experience of the professional applying Eyelash Extensions, it generally takes between 60 to 180 minutes to apply one set of Eyelash Extensions. The procedure is so relaxing and comfortable that many clients fall asleep.

SPRAY TAN FAQ

To ensure that you get the very best results from your B Luscious tanning experience, we recommend that you read the following information.

How do I prepare for my tan?
Prior to receiving your spray-on tan we recommend you cleanse and exfoliate your entire body. We can recommend our preferred products. It is also best to shave or wax at least 24 hours prior to receiving your spray tan if possible.
On the day of your spray tan we recommend that you avoid the use of deodorants, moisturizers, perfume and make-up if possible as these may inhibit the effectiveness of the tanning solution.

What to do after my tan?
We recommend that you have dark, loose fitting attire to put on after your tanning application. Once your tan is applied you must leave it to dry completely. Your B Luscious tan technician will ensure that your application is dry before you leave, but as a precaution, do not wet your skin for at least 5 hours after the tanning session. Showering the following morning is the best option.

We recommend that you do not exercise or perspire excessively between the tanning and the showering phase.
When showering do not be concerned if some of the initial bronzer washes off, this is part of the tanning process and your skin will continue to tan.

When showering we recommend that you use our preferred Body Wash and aftercare range rather than normal soaps which can be abrasive which in turn reduces the lifespan of your tan.

How long will my tan last?

You can reasonably expect it to last for up to 5 to 10 days depending upon your skin type, tan solution and providing you follow the instructions given by your tan technician. If you want to extend the life of your tan, then we would recommend using our sensational aftercare range.

HAIR EXTENSIONS FAQ

How are hair extensions applied?
The methods we prefer is the 'micro bead' and 'tape' applications.
They are the safest applications on the market.

The Microbead application is  where small silicon lined copper beads/rings are used to gently clamp the hair onto your own natural hair. Every 6-12 weeks the extensions need to be moved up. Unlike most salons, we remove the hair and use a new bead to re-apply, which means your hair will stay in better condition rather than 'reusing' and 'pushing the bead back up'.

The Tape Application is where a small section of your natural hair is sandwiched between two pieces of weft extensions which are secured to each other with a double sided tape.
We apply and recommend the newest and most popular method  which is the Skin Weft Hair Extensions method. It’s an Invisible and light weight attachment which even if it is seen, it looks like your own hair and skin.
The maintenance cycle with the skin wefts is between 4-10 weeks. During the maintenance appointment, the hair extensions are completely removed with a solution, re-tapped and re-applied.

Can I use my curler or straightener on my extensions?

You can style the hair extensions as normal. As you own hair, you should apply a heat protectant to ensure you keep your extensions in perfect condition.

How long will my hair last?
They can last for many months up to a year, (sometimes more) or be easily ruined if not cared for properly.
Use the right products and care for it properly and they will last longer. Our hair will tangle less and not shed as much as many other varieties on the market. All human hair sold for hair extensions are processed in some form and since it is not 'raw' hair, it does not have the natural oils your own hair does and dries out and thins from brushing over time. Even the best hair need to be replaced.

Each client is different, lifestyle, water, products used, care for the hair, brushing, use of heats, swimming, etc. Due to all these factors no one can give an exact amount of time hair will last. Anyone who does this is misleading as every circumstance if different.

Hair Origins- What is the difference?

- Not to be fooled by its price, Asian hair is recognized for its incredible strength and thickness.
- From a styling point of view, Asian hair can hold lasting style (curls, crimps, waves etc).

- It is perfect for clients who don’t mind the occasional day of washing hair and leaving to dry naturally. We find that Indian hair holds its own natural tousled wave when left to dry naturally.
- Indian hair is perfect for clients who want to take a step up in quality, but still within a comfortable price range.

Hair Extension Diary - Part One

Cheaper Hair Extensions VS  B Luscious Hair Extensions

Cheaper Hair Extensions
B Luscious Hair Extensions
Lifespan
2-3 months

Approx 12 months
Single Drawn VS Double Drawn
(Hair Length and Thickness)

Single Drawn
-          Uneven hair lengths
-          More short hair than long hair makes the bundle look thinned out

Double Drawn
-          All hair is the same length
-          The bundle is thick, even and silky smooth

Non Remy VS Remy
(Hair Cuticles)
Non Remy
-          Hair has been cut and collected from the floor so roots and ends are mixed.
-           Chemicals have been used to remove the cuticles, which is the first few layers of the hair strand.
-          The hair has been mixed and not kept in its natural direction.
-          Will knot and tangle regularly because of poor collection process and unaligned hair cuticles.

Remy
-          Collected properly to keep cuticles aligned.
-          Cuticles have not been altered with chemicals.
-          Hair runs in natural direction and strands have not been mixed into the wrong direction.
-          Strong, smooth hair.
-          Will not tangle and matt as cuticles are aligned naturally.
Processing
Mass processed in high heat ovens and high acid concentration- causes the hair to dry out and depletes natural moisture = lessens lifespan and increases damage.

Hair has been collected and transported correctly to preserve alignment of cuticles. Does not require to be processed as harsh as non Remy hair. The end result is healthier, silky hair that lasts!

Ethically Sourced
-          You cannot buy ethically sourced hair at a cheap cost. Cheap hair will always be unethical.
-          Unethical hair comes from places such as labor camps, prisons and the deceased.
-          Poor villages are heard of rummaging through rubbish bins and dumps, to collect hair pulled out of hairbrushes.
-          Ethically sourced
-          hair is ‘donated’ and not a forced sale nor is it collected from the deceased.
-          Mostly culture and religious donations where profits go back into the community and charity.
-          B Luscious support fair hair trading and will continue to ensure customers receive the highest quality human hair while maintaining a professional and ethical approach to the industry.

Spring Fashion & Bits about Bangs...

Spring is only just around the corner and I am so excited about the trends sweeping upon us. Sheer fabrics, crochet, lace, bangs, braids & buns.. It is all so effortlessly chic and boho.

I have been contemplating whether to have a fringe or not for some time now. But now knowing that 'bangs' are in- I had to jump on the bandwagon.

Bits about Bangs...
-Change your look and face shape by having a fringe!
-Simply pin it off your face for days you cant stand hair on your face.
-Adding a fringe can make you look more youthful and feminine.
-So many styles to choose from. Short, blunt, long, side swept, angled
